Nestled on the shore near Riverton, Manitoba is "Rosa," our Modern Viking off-grid tiny home. She has the heart of an adventurer - like you - looking for that perfect place to relax and take away stress in the beauty of nature. She relates to the one-of-a-kind. She wanders twice a year from on the land just off the shores of Lake Winnipeg to being on Lake Winnipeg ice in the winter. She is a true Viking Adventurer cut and crafted in a modern way to be a luxury, professionally-designed, off-grid, and low carbon footprint home that pays homage to the traditional shelter of a Viking encampment and the area’s Icelandic history.
A stunning open concept with more than ten large windows keeps the beauty of nature always nearby. Rosa encourages tranquility from it’s refined comfort and the area’s unique features – Lake Winnipeg’s winter landscape and Manitoba’s natural summer wilderness.

Being totally off-grid, Rosa offers a variety of amenities to keep guests cozy and happy for their stay, including but not limited to a Weber gas grill, fridge with freezer, outdoor sink and shower, forced-air propane-powered heater, and comfortable private restroom with a compost toilet. Russian Baltic Birch walls ply the 20-foot high A-frame and from the couch you can see the lake from three sides of the cabin. The location offers beautiful views and is a wonderful place to catch the enchanting Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis.

The cabin is located in a secluded spot a few feet from the beach and Lake Winnipeg. It’s the perfect place to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle and unwind and recharge – to let the days slow and enjoy the sound of the lake, and some wine and grilling, if that’s your thing.

From December 20th to March 15th each year Rosa calls the frozen water of Lake Winnipeg home. Yes, we move her on the ice to her winter spot and she loves it. PEACEFUL is how you feel when you’re cozy and warm, a cup of hot chocolate in hand, in the middle of this unique Arctic wilderness. Feel the stress and business of everyday life melt away as you enjoy reading, ice fishing, board games, and uninterrupted one-on-one time with a loved one.
Although we are Vikings and adventurers we are Modern Vikings taking every precaution necessary in the modern age to be safe in this extreme location.
Currently the Province of Manitoba does not allow us to rent overnight on the Ice. Stay Tuned...we feel it will change soon.
